Product certification for China
CCC, SRRC radio, and GB standards
China Compulsory Certification (CCC) covers many electrical and electronic categories; radio transmitters typically need SRRC (MIIT) type approval against GB/ technical regulations.
How China regulates products
Products in the CCC catalogue require certification or self-declaration via CNCA-designated bodies (e.g. CQC), Chinese type testing, factory inspection, and surveillance. Radio transmitting equipment generally needs SRRC approval and CMIIT ID marking. GB (Guobiao) standards and CCC Implementation Rules define technical requirements — IEC reports help but rarely replace local testing.

Marking summary
CCC mark for catalogue products; CMIIT ID for approved radio equipment. Labels must meet Chinese language and marking rules.
Typical pathway
- 1
Catalogue check
Confirm CCC vs self-declaration vs out-of-scope.
- 2
Local tests
Type testing in designated Chinese labs.
- 3
Factory audit
Initial inspection + annual follow-up.
- 4
SRRC if radio
Obtain CMIIT ID before import/sale.
Common pitfalls
Issues that delay customs, retail acceptance, or lab projects.
FAQ
Can IECEx replace Chinese Ex approval?
It may support technical review, but China typically still requires local Ex / CCC Ex pathways for regulated equipment.
